CrestWatt supplies, builds, wires, configures, sets and commissions protection and control systems for 33 kV and 66 kV substations as one scope. The relay schedule, CT and VT schedule, settings and wiring are verified against each other and against DNO requirements before site acceptance.

Scope

  • Protection relay supply through authorised UK distribution: ABB Relion, Siemens SIPROTEC, GE Multilin, Schneider Easergy MiCOM and others to specification
  • Current and voltage transformer supply to the client CT and VT schedule, with ratio, class and burden verified
  • Protection and control panel design and manufacture: transformer protection cubicles, line differential wall boxes, CT and CVT marshalling kiosks, control and interposing panels
  • Panel wiring, ferruling and factory acceptance testing
  • IEC 61850 substation communications: SCD engineering, GOOSE and MMS configuration, network verification
  • Protection settings calculation and application, with grading study where required

Where relays or panels are client-supplied, CrestWatt takes delivery, verifies against the schedule, builds and wires the assembly and commissions the whole, with a clear record of supply responsibility for each item.

Which protection relays does CrestWatt supply?

Relays are supplied through authorised UK distribution to the client relay schedule — ABB Relion, Siemens SIPROTEC, GE Multilin, Schneider Easergy MiCOM and others to specification — together with CTs and VTs verified for ratio, class and burden.

Is panel build included, or only commissioning?

Both. Transformer protection cubicles, line differential wall boxes, CT and CVT marshalling kiosks and control panels are designed, manufactured, wired, ferruled and factory acceptance tested, then commissioned by the same engineers on site.

What does IEC 61850 engineering cover?

SCD engineering, GOOSE and MMS configuration and substation network verification, followed by settings application, secondary and primary injection, scheme stability and functional testing, and site acceptance with DNO witness.
